Here are a some recent shots taken of club games and other pictures of note.  I try to get a reasonable number of everyone's games featured.  I bet I have something from everyone in the Society in this collection somewhere.  Have a browse.

Double click on the image opens a new window for the picture.  Return to this page using the back arrow on the normal toolbar.  A little toolbar is presented at top left of the image when the new window opens.  You can print, save etc. from that if you want.  Place the pointer in that part of the picture if it isn't visible at the time.

Three Perry plastic figures. Painted by Mark to test them. Very good! Incredible in fact

Same from a different angle

So this is the table for the Nov Sunday game. Keith's WWI (1981) scenarios. Fantastic.

As you can see it was a huge game

So the Western Front with trenches. Modified Square Bashing used.

There is a full battle report on this in the Sunday Supplement area.

40k squad lead by armour. See next shot

The eyes on this guy are really evil. really stand out in the actual picture.

BArrie and Alan put on this WWI game as an attack on a BUA. It looked great. Had to take several pikkys. See them in better detail in Dispatches.

Terrain was good also. Conflix ruins I believe.

George's 40k moves up.

Look at these Perry Plastice. These are three pilot figures from Mark.

Here they are again from different angle

So the Hwycc wait for the Vikings to arrive...and here they come.

Nice line of tanks but I can't help wanting to be a Luftwaffe pilot with a 31mm autocanon

Recce moving up. ... Fools rush in where angels...

Alan lays down smoke in front of the wood.

Digby, Alan and Barrie into 20mm WWII. Uknow, if I was starting again, I'd go for 20mm WWII!

Vikings from Paul

PAul's Vikings. Not only very good to look ay, you try fighting against them!!!

If you're praying for mercy from this lot you can forget it!

Phrygian cavalry

Column of chariots (?) moving up.

Now, I include tis as I wouldn't want there to be any further talk of my Hwycc never advancing. Tape shows the advance. Smashed to bit next move!

All looks a very orderlyu battle. See later when it all comes into collision.

FOG game from Marc and Richard

The Wiker man. Not sure what role it had but it made a big impact visualy.

Major scuffle in progress between Oren and John. Wicker man in background

Needle game between David and George. Lots of thrills and spills I think.

Aerial view of dark ages fight

It is all unravelling for the Hwycc. Vikings simply doing better.

Yet again, Digby is the sacrificial lamb. Still he held them a long time and it wasn't his fault the Hwycc lost.

An impressive formation from Richard. How come my army is always in disarray by tht stage?

Crunch-time. Yes, yet again the galleys end up piling in against eachother. Jellicoe would not approve.

Oren dithering over troop placement again.

Hmmmmmm. Time to ponder what to do next.

More from Marc and Richard.

Gorgeous English! See them at Valhalla 08

Friday Nights are getting crowded.

Lawrence fixes Russian Command problems with a pair of scissors while on the next table Paul gleefully watches as Mark's units advance to the rear.

25mm ACW. Great to see this stuff back in vogue! MicK won! His bionic arm seems to have cured his dice luck problem.

Unions ready to get beaten!

Amazingly, these are 15mm. Nice Marlb game from Alan and Barry

MOre 15mm Marlb.

Fantasy game with tanks and US aircraft (in bits having crashed)

Napoleonic games a-plenty recently! Need an article for dispatches folks

Nice naval stuff in evidence again.

I love this one. Just look at those signals.

FoG units on the move again

Fantasy game. Notice chuffing-great tank in the background

So away the lads on this one. Need an article to let us know what happened. Too many games for me to keep track of and still have a game myself!

Desparately dangerous combination of Russians and Brits advancing into position.

So this is a very strong force of Brit and KGL cavalry. Yes, the did beat my poor little Frenchies.

Poles advancing

FoG formations get up-close and personal. Need a battle report forlks.

FoG again. You will see demos of ancients at Valhalla.

The battle line draws near.

OK so my French were desparately trying the stem the tide of Russians and Brits. Nope, didn't work.

Shooting at the blighters as they pour over the hill.

Digby's German allies seemed to be the only part of the French Army doing anything useful at the close.

More German Allies going forward.

Yes, this really is Russian Grenadiers moving into ex-Royalist French. Figures ran short don't you know.

Poles again

ACW artillery laying down fire.

SF game. An asteroid and a beacon thingy. I need to be educated on this I think.

I loved this little space ship. Looked like a demented pigeon.

25mm British Brigade (1706)

Nice Medieavals!

Why not make a film on this?

The skellies won. Nice budgie in the foreground

This is the documentary proof that Gordon can roll double six!

FoG in 1/300th. Good game

More on FoG

3-table ACW game set on Friday. looked like some pretty tough games.

88s waiting for the Crusaders to get close

Lambs to the slaughter. Not a bit of cover anywhere, broad daylight and the 88s are waiting.

1848 US/Mexicans again. Another incredibly hard fought game.

Dave's WWII airplanes. Flying fortresses this time.

Mexys moving up.

Fortresses making progress

20mm WWII in urban fighting. (FoW I think).

Better view of the village. Check out the isolated groups fighting.

OK so the got into the house.

Getting to close quarters now.

Another view of the 88s. They survived the art bombardment and were soon back in full operation.

French..What say!

Steve's dodgy fantasy game. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing...it showed!

More of Steve's fantasy game. Why do they give these tiny female figures huge swords?

Archer! Hopeless! Did nothing all game.

This is included to save you lot straining your eyes with the previous shots.

The attack on troy commences. Siege engines moving up. Sunday Game. Warhammer rules + House amendments

The American battle line. Nice figs

It all started so well for the Myceneans. even the Horse was going for it.

Ajax's force is ready to engage. I daren't show the Trojans at this stage as they were in chaos.

Mycenaens using combined arms attacks! Powerful but not terribly realistic je crois

Close up of Ajax.

25 years old these chariots. I wish I could say the same of their owner who might have been there!

OK so the Trojans decided to defend troy by attacking! Here they are formed ready to go. Notice how few there are.

Chariots seen from the Greek side.

This tower was manned by Mermadons for goodness sake. Serious problems for the Trojans if that ever gets into position.

US line still in position

Mycenean Lt Chars bravely attack massed Trojan archers on a hill. Desparately unlucky. They don't break them and then the slow grind to destruction

Very large forcs of trojans finally show up on Mycenean right flank.

Ah! The US wagons start to move forward. Sadly, they quickly got isolated at the front and then were nabbed by the Mexies

I can't explain why but I am usually very luck with Mexicans. Here again, they all get into position and start the attack.

Getting ready to mop up surviving crusaders.

The mop up force hardly needed the 88s!

You have to admit, the camo is very natty

Some Ogres take on a Giant. Funny how people do self-portraits!

MOving into position. An often over-looked difficult bit!

ACW supported battery. Tough to shift I recall

Elephants moving in (DBM)

So the Confederate defence line is formed - they were supposed to attack!

Aerial view

Union cavalry (Allan's) pour through the huge gap in the line.

The gap was really huge!

Italian Wars (Big Sunday Game) - Rules were so fast we got 2 games in!

Fog of war? No, bad photograph!

Stretch that ruler!

Russian columns start the attack in the Crimea (Grand Manner?)

Guess what's waiting for the Russians

Ouch-time! Russians start to come under fire frim the Line

Artillery support for the Russian attacks - not that it'll do much good.

Brits moving into position to stop the remaining Russian attacks (there were 5!)

Some nice Jannisaries

The Cantons's pike will advance.

Italian Wars Company advance

This was a big game!

So the Flying Aces got together on the 18th Jan. Another evening of great fun! Thanks Gavin.

DAvid's new WWII aerial game. Looks popular!

Included only to show you may be better to get there early to have space for the table.

Imperial vs Ogre I think.

1848 US/Mex war again.

US troops want to see off the Mex troops on their right!

Interesting Sci-Fi capital ship

OK so who can see the all-black "baddie"?

Alan showing who isn't very considerate of members' feelings!!

My Mex brigades forming up behind the hill ready to attack.

Nice US unit. It is retreating by the way.

It got very tight in the orner for the Mexicans but they made it.

Too tough to attack easily!

So what are you going to do about that then?

The first game played on the ladder!

Waterloo

Franco-Prussian Battles

Sci-Fi continues to rise in popularity

Action in the centre at Waterloo

Trying to give an idea of the size of this battle!

Franco-Prussian war

I love the colour schemes on these ships.

Prussian Cavalry moving past the trees

These units look impressive

Dutch-Belgian Cavalry moving to the left flank but it's all too late.

I flew this one first time "up". I think I'm in love!

Have a look at the Camo on this. It is the right way round!

MOre on colour schemes. Good paint job. Notice the little ships underneath

Some of the German Planes. Each has its own data sheet but the rules are really simple and easy.

I believe each plane is modeled on an actual plane with a real, historical pilot.

OK so there were some planes I think others can fly in. This looks unsafe!

Part of the RFC!!

More of the RFC

Picture doesn't do them justice.

More RFC

A different Sci-Fi set up. This is about big powerful ships taking damage and eventually falling apart.

DMM Starter

Caught my eye!

Notice the wires!

The French Central attack. There are some seriously powerful units as well as there being a lot of them.

OK so the brits are cowering behind the hill. So would you facing guns like those!

Franco-Prussians. The starting positions.

Bavarian Brigade Holds Hill

Graham's ice cream van doesn't add much to the game I think

Warmaster formations on the move

Mycenean Civil war fought to Crusader Rules

French moving up. They get shot without the Voltigeurs out in front.

Russian Hv gun battery. Very powerful and have to be dealt with quickly or else they will hurt you.

Little Russia Grenadiers. GVery tough. All three Battns present too!

T26 makes an impact in the SCW...Sometimes.

DBM - Pontic(?) phalanx moves onto the Greeks

"Legionaries" facing Greeks

Big Napoleon's Battles Game - Sort of Waterloo. This shows the moving up in the Centre

Looking from Allied Centre-Right (the Spanish across to the Allied Left with French in the background). The Centre BUA is critical.

Massive French hammer-blow forming up to go at Spanish Centre-right. Cavlry in foreground is about to be shot to bits by Spanish Artillery!

Allied forces try to move up to face French by central BUA but moved too far before deploying. The French start to launch attacks on BUA.

More French attacks but the Brits hold on. The front Allied units have been broken by french and second line is all that is left.

On the French right (Allied Left) the Flanking Allied cav movement is itself flanked and beaten. The infantry face off and trade shots.

The centre now has everything committed. Really tough fight now. Everything depends on who has that BUA

Allied Left / French Right, the Brits are now piling on the pressure.

Allied extreme right/French Left. The French are stalled. They think they can't beat the now formed up Spanish line. French cavalry now dispersed.

French remain stalled and under fire. The are definitely still formidable but feel the attack is no longer viable.

We draw a veil over the appalling sight of powerful French forces withdrawing (actually skulking away) from terrible quality Spanish.

Fantasy Game. Not sure but might have been WARMASTER

Another DBM Game. Elephants dominate the line.

Things getting all very close now

Republic Napoleonic Game

More on the Republic Game

French line hill to await the British attack - Despite outnumbering and out classing the Brits in art and cav.

"Where's Ar Arfur then?"

GHQ ACW Rules

1848 Mexicans defence

Mexican left flank

1848 US Cavalry move up

Flames of War in action

More Mexicans

DBM - Like wide man!

Americans start off against Mexican left flank

12 foot table. Americans lost in the background as the concentrate against left flank

Mexican C-i-C doesn't seem to have high hopes of withstanding the attaack

Good boys! Off to teach the colonists a good lesson
